The story of Dutchess Beer is one of hard work, earned trust, and generations learning the business from the ground up.
1933
The beginning
Founded by Jack Jocias, Dutchess Beer began serving Dutchess and Ulster counties. Anthony Cappillino joined as a driver and worked his way up to manager.
1960s
A growing team
Anthony Kondysar joined the business as office manager, helping shape the next chapter of the company.
1968
New ownership
Anthony Cappillino and Anthony Kondysar became owners after Mr. Jocias passed away.
1992–1998
The second generation
Dennis Cappillino and Stephen Kondysar moved through merchandising, sales, and management roles before becoming partners.
1998–2004
Expanding the footprint
A Kingston warehouse opened in 1998. The Poughkeepsie facility, built in 1980, expanded in 2004 as coverage grew.
Today
The next generation
Tyler Cappillino and Stephen Kondysar Jr. continue the family business alongside more than 100 local employees.
